Step II children enjoyed performing an activity of tearing and pasting in pineapple on Yellow Colour Day and also participated in Lemon Race. While in Step I, children made smiley sandwiches. After the declaration of their manifestoes, the pupils assembled in the auditorium which was converted into a polling station, with a table for the election staff , a waiting area, a polling booth and a ballot box. They were escorted for the polling booth to cast their votes. It was a great day pulsating with energy. The Resource persons of the workshop were Dr. Sandhya Tiwari and Dr. The authors apprised the teachers about the latest changes in the curriculum. All the participants found the workshop very fruitful as they got the opportunity to speak with the authors directly.

Mall road strolling provided the experience to students to manage money and buy souvenir for their loved ones, whereas Gun Hill visit enriched them with the history and present importance of the place. On a clear day one can spot the snow-capped peaks of the Garhwal Himalayan range including the towering Bandarpunch and Gangotri glacier.
Gun Hill sits at a height of 6, feet 2, meters and is the second-highest point in Mussoorie. Objective of this visit was to expose the students to learn about importance of forest resources and different aspects of environmental degradation. The trip was organized from 11 th May to 13 th May, A total of 36 students and 4 teachers went for the trip. The buses rolled out on 11 th May at 6: On the way, students had a wonderful time playing games like On the spot Prop and Perform, Dumb Charades,etc. The teachers were in for a welcome surprise as the students displayed a lot of creativity and innovation as they enacted, danced and sang.
At the resort, after initial refreshments, students participated enthusiastically in commando net, and other adventure sports. They spent their evening around the bonfire, singing songs and sharing experiences of their journey. On Day 2 ,in the wee hours, students were woken up for yoga and aerobics. It was indeed the most enjoyable and unforgettable experience for all the kids. During the length of the day, students also visited Corbett Museum and Corbett Falls. Students could not help getting awestruck by the captivating and magnificent splendor of the museum. The trip proved really helpful in making students realize the importance of wildlife. In the evening, students were pleasantly surprised to see astronomy activities. They were euphoric to see the rocket launch. The last day of the trip i.
Away from home, smitten by natural beauty, in the company of only friends ,children did not forget to wish their Moms. They sang a song dedicated to their mothers.
After three days of pure fun and frolic , children parted for Delhi. Hence, robotics involves a scientific study of robots. TIHS always takes pride in creating educational experiences for our children which ignites their minds with imagination and creativity and fosters innovation.
A sample was also shown to the children which dumbfounded them. It was indeed a very technilicious session. Blue is the closest colour to Truth! All the children and their teachers came dressed up in different hues of blue.
A beautiful beach scene was created in hurdle area and it was decorated with cut outs of blue clouds, fishes, blue balloons, waterfall and many other objects. The main idea was to make children aware about the colour and its importance in our life. Teachers discussed with kids the importance of water and various measures to save it.
Children even took a pledge not to waste water and save every drop of it. They were extremely excited to float the Paper Boats in big tubs filled with water. In the class, the tiny tots actively participated in Lemonade Making Activity under the supervision of their class teachers. They drew and coloured blue colour objects in their sketch file. All the teams struggled hard to win a position. All the students enjoyed it. Alert today, Alive tomorrow! The morning of 9th May, was not at all a usual morning for our students because it brought a sweet surprise for our little munchkins.
After getting felicitated by the Principal Ms. Archana Narain , Mr. Not only a test ride, but students were also intimidated about the basics of traffic rules by the BMW squad by giving colourful books on Traffic rules and regulations. The dire need for wearing a helmet was stressed and they should be worn not only by the Moms and Dads but also by the Kids.
Students had fun paddling and controlling the steering wheel with realistic start up and engine sounds. Indeed, it was a dream come true for our future Narayan Kartikeyens. Students dressed up as different helpers spoke up and described their role and importance in society with lots of confidence, facial expressions and voice modulation.
Richa Jain and Ms. Amanjot appreciated each participant for the excellent efforts put in by them but at the same time they had a really tough time deciding the winners. The prime focus of the session was to provide our students a platform to look for opportunities of career interest outside India. Mothers always deserve a big WOW for the numerous efforts they make for their kids. Teachers also mesmerized the viewers by their beautiful dance performances. A mother should not only stand by her child through thick and thin but also act like a beacon torch during every phase of life. Kanika praised the school for its efforts, endeavours and discipline. The main attraction of the day was Ramp Walk of mother and child duo on the theme- Pratibimb-the Ravishing Reflection.

A Tug of War between the boys of the boys from the senior wing and the support staff displayed the skills of workforce, teamwork and skills as the two teams competed to bagged the coveted position. Out of three rounds , the support staff won two and emerged victorious. The sporting event garnered the whole hearted participation of the students from Delhi and NCR. It was indeed an energizing experience for one and all.
The result of the event is as follows: The day commenced with the felicitation of the supporting staff by the students of the primary wing as they presented beautiful cards as token of gratitude for their services and as caretakers of the school. Young enthusiasts were excited to be a part of a colorful and vibrant event. Their hands and feet oozed energy and oomph as they twirled , flipped and jumped. Interesting props were also used by children to make their act all the more interesting. Not only the teachers but also the judges immensely enjoyed the dance moves of our young dances. However, they had a tough time deciding on the winners.
The judges who graced the occasion of weeklong Junior wing competition were an ace choreographer; Mr. Asha Kumari, a Management Professional, Ms.
Neha Munjal and a seasoned performer —Choreographer Mr. Vinita Shrivastava and Ms. Nair judged the Sr. Students were also introduced to various shades of green like bottle green, parrot green, sea green and olive green. They also drew and coloured in their sketch files the different objects found in green colour. Children recited rhymes on green colour vegetables. At the end of the day, kids were happy to receive the Green Caterpillar as a takeaway. It is about Life and about bringing everyone together.
It was a visual treat for all the house members and house teachers as the players from all the teams gave a thrilling performance by dodging, feinting and bursts of controlled speed by following the basic rule of the game, that is, to catch by pursuit and to chase rather than just run. They appreciated the programme and were spell bound by the efforts put up by the children. Fancy Dress is an art of wearing an amusing and unusual costume as part of a theme. Such a contest stirs the spirit of children and opens up their mind to imagine out of box. Children were smartly dressed and participated with lot of enthusiasm and enthralled everyone with their beautiful performances. They had shown their concern regarding increase in pollution, depletion of water etc.
This activity provided them an opportunity to not only showcase their talent but they could also combat stage fright with great zeal. Ted Talks is a platform for ideas worth spreading where people share their ideas and opinions with the communities around the world. The students saw a video about a man who survived a plane crash. The session highlighted the importance of treating Life as a Beautiful Gift, to value and cherish each and every moment that we live in the present. The discussion after the video generated an overwhelming response of the students as they voiced their views and opinions about the topic.
It was indeed a rich learning experience as the students pondered over and went beyond the topic thereby interpreting the value imparted in numerous other positive ways. Ambedkar Jayanti a Special Assembly was conducted on April 13, The students also shared amazing and knowledgeable facts about the two festivals. The students from the senior wing conveyed the teachings of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar in the form of a lyrical verses.
The achievements and contributions of Dr Ambedkar were highlighted and emphasis was laid on his writing the lengthiest Constitution of the world. His contributions to the uplift of lower caste people were also highlighted. The festival not only marks the onset of Spring but is also a celebration of harvest and abundance. In her address the School Principal Ms Archana Narain urged the students to follow the teachings, the universal principles of equality, respect for all and living in harmony.

With an objective to educate children about the identification, importance and consumption of fruit in regular diet Little Steps of The Indian heights School organized a hands on activity: The event was the part of a novel method of familiarizing children with fruits and more importantly making them understand, that fruits are essential parts of daily meal.
Teachers explained the importance of Fruit in take in the diet for the physical and mental Growth of the body. Children were made aware of Fruit with one seed, few seeds and many seeds. Fruits colour texture and taste was discussed in detail. All children brought one fruit from their home, class teachers prepared the fruit salad in the class with the help of students who participated enthusiastically in the activity.

Good oral health and dental hygiene can help keep tooth decay and gum diseases at bay. To make our dental camp fruitful, we had Dr. Gaurav Singh and Dr. Shweta Bajaj from Floss and Gloss Dental Clinic, Dwarka in our school premises who meticulously and patiently carried a comprehensive dental check-up for children from classes Step I to V.
The dental specialists emphasized on tooth decay, gum diseases and methods to prevent them. The students got a wonderful opportunity to interact with the doctors and came to know about proper brushing techniques, the eating patterns and the healthy food choices. On completion of the dental check-ups and awareness camp, students were given a patient card with the recommended dental plan.
Students with healthy teeth were encouraged with a certificate of appreciation from the doctors themselves. The doctors also gave gel gummies to children. Students flaunted their general knowledge and observation skills by answering questions after the workshop. Throughout the week, students were encouraged to get healthy food in their tiffins. Adventure sports are not only fun but also help in inculcating various skills in children like enhancing gross and fine motor skills, team spirit, risk taking, collaboration along with problem solving skills.
In order to relax and relieve the students after their Annual Examinations, the school organized an Adventure Camp with in its premises on March 17, for classes I-VIII, which was an excellent initiative by the school Principal, Ms.
The lawns of the school resonated with cheers of students that spelled excitement and highest form of thrill as they engaged in sports which were age appropriate. The day commenced with short briefing session about the precautions to be taken and rules to be followed during the camp. The students were divided into small groups along with their assigned instructors and teachers. The day was high on adventure through the exuberant presence of school Chairperson, Ms. Madhu Gupta that further inspired the students to participate more often in such activities.
The excitement among the students and the teachers was palpable. The presence of the parents kept the momentum going for the day as they also participated in adventure activities displaying exhilaration and unbounded joy. It was indeed a power packed day of thrills and skills where everyone roped in to experience an electrifying and heart throbbing fun. Taking students into a new environment gives them the experience of travelling in a group and teaches them to be respectful of the locations they visit.
The camp site had a breath taking view. Students were delighted to see the greenery of the area. The little ones had light refreshment and then they were divided into groups. After that there was no turning back, students got engrossed throughout the day in various physical activities through which they came to know about their strengths and it also helped them to develop self-confidence.
The perfect weather added to the enthusiasm of the students and teachers. Each activity was so well planned and executed that children found themselves to be very close to nature. Students also enjoyed sumptuous meal which kept them energized.
Magic show in the end served as the cherry on the cake. It was a lovely experience for the students and teachers alike. This trip instilled in little wonders to respect our resources and to become physically active and mentally alert. It was a difficult task for the judges to decide on the winners as each and every class came up with wonderful performance.
Congratulations to all the winners and big thanks to all the parents for their support. The festival of Holi brings so much joy and gaiety. And let the Almighty paint the canvas of our life with colours of success, good health and prosperity. They also made Ball Projector which is one of the safest method to observe Sun. The Guest Speaker Mr. Dogra acquainted the students about the pros and cons of social media and especially how it can affect the young generation. The workshop was an interactive platform where other eminent people also shared anecdotes and provided an indepth knowledge about the cautious use of social media.
Archana Narain also highlighted how the advent of social media has revolutionized our living habits and thought process. At the launch , the guest Speaker Mr S. The ceremony commenced on an auspicious note with an invocation song. In her address, the school Principal Ms. Archana Narain urged the students to have faith in their abilities and to face the upcoming board examinationswith confidence.
Some tips on smart studying and to manage time for recreational activities were also shared with the students. Students then lit candles to carry the light of learning, wisdom and knowledge. The School Management also conveyed their best wishes and Good Luck for the upcoming examinations.

Some of the common queries that featured in Live Interaction Session were- 1. In spite of thorough revision schedule, the students get nervous and make careless errors while writing their exams. It was a hangout session where students asked many questions related to the topic which were addressed by Dr. To celebrate the rarest event of the century The Total Lunar Eclipse, a Star Party was organized in the school on January 31, to witness this breathtaking phenomenon along with some fun activities for the students of class I and II.
The event commenced with a wonderful rocket launch. The major attraction of the Star Party were Astronomy related activities like shoot the alien, Pop rocketry, shadow matching, Hydrorocketry, telescope watch and many more. The activity stalls were thoroughly enjoyed by students and their parents and even some grandparents who had come for the event.
The crowd then witnessed the rarest event of the century and were awestruck by the beauty of the Super Blue Blood Moon. Apart from being a stress buster for the children the Stat Party was an interactive, informative and fun filled event. They made beautiful posters consisting of all the important information related to the Lunar Eclipse. Students mass popularized the event and shared the information with everyone including the maids, peons and guards of the school.
Respected Admin Sir, encouraged the students by being part of this initiative. Students shared information like myths, superstitions etc. Also, to set up the importance of this event students of class V made interesting models explaining to science behind Lunar Eclipse.

The workshop was enjoyed by everyone present and was a rich learning experience. The teachers and students offered prayers and rendered a spiritual ambience as they sang devotional bhajans in their sweet and melodious voice. D N Dimri was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The volunteers were first given a small brief at the venue and then were assigned to handle a group of participants. Our student, Jayana Batra explained the steps of Project Paridhi to our esteemed guest. The other two volunteers Aditya and Vysakh assisted the participants throughout with the conduction of the experiment. It was a wonderful learning experience for the volunteers. One of our parents, Mr. His session covered the important areas of time management, goal setting and skill development, which are the prerequisites of future ready students.
Students kept the session very interactive and gained insight on the simple nuances necessary to equip themselves for their lives. The rendition of songs, by the school choir in the form of a parody of the songs learnt and performed on different occasions in the year , was like a sparkling pearls of a garland embedded together in one string. The students from Primary Wing through their beautiful dance performances learnt during Danceworxx Sessions held in school during provided a befitting musical charm to the assembly.
